Mr. Jamshyd N. Godrej is chairman of Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd, one of India's largest engineering and consumer products companies. He serves as Chairman Emeritus of the Aspen Institute India, Trustee and President Emeritus of World Wide Fund for Nature, India, and Director of World Resources Institute, USA. He is also the Chairman of CII-Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre, a Centre of Excellence for green buildings, energy efficiency, energy conservation, non-conventional energy sources, water policy and water conservation. Mr. Godrej has been awarded the Padma Bhushan for his distinguished service to the country.

Nitin Desai

Mr. Nitin Desai has had a long and distinguished career in the government of India and the United Nations. He worked at senior levels in the Planning Commission establishing and managing the system for the cost-benefit analysis of public investment projects. He is a Member-Secretary of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister. Mr. Desai was the Chief Economic Adviser and Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance and has been associated with a variety of public service activities.

Ms. Naina Lal Kidwai is Chairman, Max Financial Services and Senior Advisor, Advent Private Equity. She retired on December 2015 as Executive Director on the board of HSBC Asia Pacific and Chairman HSBC India. She is also a Non-Executive Director on the boards of Nestle SA and CIPLA Ltd and has been Past President of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry). Ms. Kidwai, a Padma Shri awardee (2007), is one of India’s representatives on the BRICs Business Council and India Malaysia CEO Forum. She has been a member of the Government of India’s Industry Task Force, the Prime Minister’s Trade and Industry Council, the National Manufacturing Council, the National Trade Council, and on the Working Group on Banking, Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission and the National Institute of Bank Management.

Meher Pudumjee

Ms. Meher Pudumjee took over as Chairperson of Thermax Limited on October 5, 2004, after the retirement of her mother Ms Anu Aga. She managed Thermax's subsidiary company in the UK before joining the Board of Directors in 1996. She worked closely with the company's treasury and working capital management functions. In January 2001, Ms. Pudumjee became a non-executive director and was appointed Vice Chairperson in 2002. During this period she played an active role in the turnaround of the company, looking at divesting of non-core activities and restructuring of business portfolios.

Rajiv Lall

Dr. Rajiv Lall is Founder MD & CEO of IDFC Bank. With over two decades of experience with leading global investment banks, multi-lateral agencies and in academia, he chairs the Infrastructure Council of CII (Confederation of Indian Industry), is India's representative to the G20 Workgroup on Infrastructure and a member of the City of London's Advisory Council on India. He is also member of the Planning Commission's Steering Committee on Urban Development Management, the Prime Minister's Committees on Infrastructure Finance and Transport Sector Development and several other government committees. A Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University and a faculty member of the Florida Atlantic University Department of Economics, Dr. Lall has a number of publications and articles to his credit.

Suman Bery

Mr. Suman Bery was most recently Shell’s Chief Economist, based in The Hague, The Netherlands. He earlier served as Director-General (Chief Executive) of the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), New Delhi, and was a part-time member of the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council, of India’s Statistical Commission and of the Reserve Bank of India’s Technical Advisory Committee on Monetary Policy. Mr. Bery has also been on the staff of the World Bank in Washington DC.

Krishan Dhawan

Mr Krishan Dhawan brings extensive experience from the corporate sector. Most recently he was Managing Director of Oracle India. This followed an extended career at Bank of America in the US, India and East Asia. He left as Managing Director of the Corporate Banking Group in Los Angeles. Mr Dhawan is the founding trustee of IIMPACT, an organisation focused on literacy amongst rural girls in India. He has a BA (Honours) in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and is also a certified Executive Coach.

Harish Hande

Dr. Harish Hande is a social entrepreneur who founded SELCO India, a solar electric light company. Over the years SELCO has lit up over 120,000 households to emerge as India's leading solar technology firm. It provides customized solar lighting solutions to rural households. It runs the rural solar service financing programme in association with rural development banks, to help their customers pay for sustainable energy services. Dr. Hande has received many awards including the Ashden Award for Sustainable Energy- 2005 . SELCO also won the Ashden Outstanding Achievement Award for 2007.

Ramesh Kymal

Mr. Ramesh Kymal is the Chairman & Managing Director of Gamesa Wind Turbines (P) Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Gamesa Group, Spain which is a leading supplier of wind power technology in the world and a driving force behind the development of wind power technologies. Mr Kymal is a Mechanical Engineer with specialization in Operations Research, Statistical Quality Control and has pursued higher studies at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. He has served for over 25 years in various capacities across blue chip companies in both India and Europe. He is the Chairman of Renewable Energy Council of CII - Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre and is actively involved with wind power associations, promoting the sector by encouraging business and investment opportunities.

Leonardo Lacerda

Leonardo Lacerda holds the position of Environment Programme Director at Oak Foundation. He supervises staff, working on two priority areas: climate change and marine conservation. Prior to joining Oak Foundation, Leonardo worked for 14 years with the World Wildlife Fund’s international network in various capacities, including Mediterranean Programme Director/Representative (Rome, Italy), Conservation Director of WWF-Brazil (Brasilia), Manager of the Global Forest Conservation Programme, and Latin America and Caribbean Programme Coordinator (Gland, Switzerland). He is a member of the Scientific Council of WWF-Brazil, and former board member of WWF-Spain and WWF-Greece.

Arvind Mahajan

Mr. Arvind Mahajan has more than 38 years of experience in management consulting and industry. His management consulting experience includes more than 22 years as partner with AF Ferguson & Co, Price WaterhouseCoopers, IBM Global Business Services and most recently with KPMG. Mr. Mahajan is a part of the founding group and advisory board of IIMPACT, an initiative that provides free primary education to 60,000 girls in 1,100 of the poorest villages of India.

Moutushi Sengupta

Ms. Moutushi Sengupta is the Country Director for the MacArthur Foundation’s India Office. Prior to joining MacArthur, she was Director – Programmes and Advocacy for Oxfam India. Ms. Sengupta has worked with the Department for International Development (DFID) in India for over 15 years on a diverse portfolio of programs and projects across the country. She held the position of visiting faculty at the Symbiosis Institute of International Business, teaching post-graduate course on financial services for the rural poor.

Chinmaya Acharya
Chinmaya Kumar Acharya provides strategic leadership and guidance to Shakti across all programme operations. Chinmaya brings to this position over 16 years of experience in programme management, policy dialogue, technical assistance, capacity building, stakeholder engagement and partnership development. Prior to joining Shakti in August 2010, Chinmaya served as a Project Management Specialist with the USAID where he championed several key projects in energy access, clean energy and energy efficiency. Chinmaya has a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Xavier Institute of Management in Bhubaneswar.
Vatsala Joseph | Chief Financial Officer
Vatsala Joseph
Vatsala Joseph leads Shakti’s financial strategy and operations including grant and contract management. Prior to joining Shakti in July 2012, Vatsala has worked with Care, Oxfam and the All India Association for Christian Higher Education. With over 20 years of experience, Vatsala specialises in financial planning, fund management, budgeting, donor financial contract management, audits, taxation and general administration. She has extensive experience in administering large budgets funded by donors like USAID, European Union, UNICEF, UNDP and CIDA. Vatsala has completed her C.A. (Final Group I).
Shishir Soti | Head of Partnerships
Shishir Soti
Shishir Soti leads Shakti’s partnerships and fundraising programme, and his key responsibilities include identifying, networking, and engaging with external groups and individuals. A Post Graduate in Marketing from the Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies in Pune, Shishir has over 18 years of experience in developing and implementing business strategies and marketing plans, maintaining long-term customer relationships by providing high quality services, and building opportunities for client engagement. Before joining Shakti in July 2015, Shishir worked with Kotak Mahindra Bank as Associate Vice President (Privy Banking) where he set up the Bank’s first Privy League Branch. Shishir has also worked with Standard Chartered Bank, Modi Xerox Limited, and ICICI Bank.
Surendra Singh | Head, Human Resources
Surendra Singh
Surendra leads Shakti’s HR strategy for sourcing, engaging and retaining quality talent. With over 16 years experience in HR, Surendra specialises in organisation design, talent management, change management and streamlining HR systems. Prior to joining Shakti in July 2012, Surendra has worked with the British High Commission, ActionAid and the Population Foundation of India. Surendra holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the Institute of Management Technology, and Diploma in Training and Development from the Indian Society for Training and Development.
Aditi Sinha | Communications Manager
Aditi Sinha
Aditi Sinha leads Shakti’s communications activities. Prior to joining Shakti in April 2013, Aditi worked as a consultant with the Aga Khan Foundation in New Delhi, where she planned and implemented communication strategies for interventions in rural development, education and water and sanitation. Her areas of interest include strategic communications, media relations, social media, writing, design and production and special events. Aditi holds a degree in international studies from the University of Oregon, USA.
Deepak Gupta | Senior Programme Manager, Power
Deepak Gupta
Deepak Gupta provides strategic planning, leadership, and guidance to Shakti’s power programme. With over ten years of experience in the renewable energy and environment industry, Deepak has played strategic roles in the areas of technology, commercial aspects and financing. Prior to Joining Shakti in September 2010, Deepak worked with Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Ltd. in the waste management and renewable energy division. Deepak holds an M. Tech degree from IIT Delhi and an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University.
Kunal Sharma | Senior Programme Manager, Climate Policy
Kunal Sharma
Kunal Sharma provides strategic planning, leadership, and guidance to Shakti’s Climate Policy programme. Kunal’s previous work experience includes Abt Associates in Cambridge Massachusetts where he managed several investigations in support of US EPA initiatives. Some of his key responsibilities included providing analytic support towards the formulation of effluent limitation guidelines for the metal products and machinery industry, reviewing trends in international capital flows from an environmental perspective, and research on pollution abatement technologies. Kunal graduated from Yale University, USA with dual Masters’ degrees in Environmental Studies and Economics.
Shubhashis Dey | Programme Manager, Energy Efficiency
Shubhashis Dey
Shubhashis Dey provides strategic planning, leadership, and guidance to Shakti’s Energy Efficiency program. He has over 15 years of rich experience in project management, policy analysis, energy audit, and energy accounting. Shubhashis has carried out more than 80 energy cost reduction studies in Industrial houses and Commercial Establishments covering sectors such as cement, iron & steel, chemicals, automobiles, paper, fertilizers, power, and commercial buildings. He has also worked with various government agencies, multilateral and bilateral organizations on projects related to energy issues for industry, transport and household. Prior to joining Shakti in September 2016, Shubhashis was working with Ernst & Young as Manager – Advisory, and has worked with Sodexo, Eaga Energy, McKinnon & Clarke, and Global Energy in the past. He is Post Graduate in Energy Management from Indian Institute of Social Welfare & Business Management and BE in Electronics Engineering from Nagpur University.
Pustav Joshi | Programme Manager, Clean Energy Finance
Pustav Joshi
Pustav Joshi provides strategic planning, leadership, and guidance to Shakti’s Clean Energy Finance program. Prior to joining Shakti in June 2017, Pustav worked with Mercados EMI as a consultant in the power sector. In the past, Pustav has worked with Deloitte consulting and engaged with PSU’s, Central and State governments, Development banks, Bilateral Donor agencies and corporate clients in modernization, financial modelling, business planning, financial analysis and policy analysis. Pustav holds a post-graduate qualification in Management, with a specialization in Strategy & Public Policy from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and a degree in MSc. Environment & Development from King’s College London. He is also a qualified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Vivek M Chandran | Programme Manager, Transport
Vivek M Chandran
Vivek M Chandran leads Shakti’s Transport program. Vivek has a master’s degree in Planning (specialisation in Urban and Transport Planning) from CEPT University, Ahmedabad and a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore. In the past, Vivek has worked with C40 Climate Leadership Group, EMBARQ, Agenda for Bangalore Infrastructure Development (ABIDe) and the Centre for Urban Equity (CEPT University). Vivek has expertise in urban planning and transport mobility and has undertaken several key assignments including the “Metro Accessibility Project” in Indira Nagar and Gurgaon, “City Bus Terminal Design Project” in Gulbarga, “Transit Oriented Development Project” in Hubli Dharwad and “Technical Inputs and Reviews” project for Jaipur Smart City Ltd.

Parshant Kumar Sharma coordinates grant management activities at Shakti. Parshant has over 18 years experience in the development sector with substantial knowledge in financial management and monitoring of grants funded by key government and international donors. Prior to joining Shakti in November 2012, Parshant managed grants and budgets at CARE India, where he was instrumental in establishing robust systems for accurate and timely reporting to donor agencies. Archana Gandhi | Executive Assistant to CEO
Archana Gandhi
Archana Gandhi manages CEO’s office and provides administrative support at Shakti. Apart from having experience in managing the office of an executive head of the organisation, Archana has over 18 years of valuable experience in administration, logistics, procurement and vendor management. Before joining Shakti in June 2017, she has worked with Population Foundation of India, Institute of Human Development, and WaterAid. Archana is done her B Com. from Delhi University and has a Diploma in Secretarial Practice from Y.W.C.A, Delhi.
Disha Agarwal | Programme Associate, Renewable Energy
Disha Agarwal
Disha has completed her Masters in Renewable Energy Engineering and Management from TERI University, New Delhi. She has worked on a project with Dr Sujata Gupta at the Asian Development Bank on financing renewable energy in developing countries. She has won the Acara Challenge 2011, organised by the University of Minnesota, for developing a sustainable business solution that addressed water security issues. She has undertaken techno-economic feasibility studies of wind and biomass projects. Her interest lies in research and analysis of renewable energy markets, policy and regulatory aspects of renewable energy, and renewable energy financing. She enjoys singing during her leisure time.
Vrinda Sarda | Programme Associate, Electric Utilities
Vrinda Sarda
Vrinda Sarda supports the management of Shakti’s Electric Utilities Programme. Vrinda completed her internship at Shakti in July 2013 following which she joined Shakti full-time. Prior to this, Vrinda interned with the Indian Oil Corporation where she conducted a study on the carbon footprint and water consumption of the building. Her areas of expertise include utility-related demand side management, distribution efficiency, and research and analysis of power and efficiency markets. Vrinda holds a Post Graduate degree in Climate Science and Policy from TERI University.
Parul Mittal | Finance Associate
Parul Mittal
Parul Mittal handles financial accounts, payments, deposits, and audit activities of Shakti. Prior to joining Shakti in February 2015, Parul had worked with NEC Energy Private Limited and CARE India and has a valuable experience of two years in the domain of finance, accounts, and taxation. She is a Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and holds a bachelor's degree in Commerce Honors from Jesus & Mary College, University of Delhi.

Manoj Kumar manages grants work at Shakti. His work profile includes ensuring compliance with donor contractual obligations and handling internal policies of the organisation. Manoj has a rich experience in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. Prior to joining Shakti in 2015 , Manoj has worked with British High Commission, New Delhi and Eastern Rana Forex Consultants Pvt. Ltd. He holds a Post graduate degree in Commerce from Calicut University, Kerala.
Radhika Sharma | Programme Associate, Energy Access
Radhika Sharma
Radhika Sharma assists in Shakti’s Energy Access Program. Prior to joining Shakti in July 2017, Radhika has worked with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) as a research associate. Her past experience includes policy research for the renewable energy sector, organising capacity building and knowledge dissemination workshops in the clean energy space and project assessment and evaluation. She has a M. Tech in Renewable Energy Engineering and Management from TERI University and prior to that she did a B. Tech in Biotechnology from Jaipur National University.
Saloni Sachdeva | Programme Assistant, Energy Access
Saloni Sachdeva
Saloni provides tactical and operational support to Shakti’s Energy Access Program. Her key areas of expertise are Energy Efficiency, Solar PV and Rooftops Systems, and Energy Policy and Regulation. Prior to joining Shakti in June 2016, Saloni worked with Tata Consultancy Services for about one year as Engineer Trainee. Saloni has completed her Masters in Renewable Energy and Management from TERI University, and her B. Tech in Electrical from Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, College of Engineering, Pune.
Arshpreet Kalsi | Programme Assistant, Climate Policy
Arshpreet Kalsi
Arshpreet supports the management of Shakti’s Climate Policy Program. Arshpreet has a Masters degree in Renewable Energy and Management from TERI University and a B. Tech in Biotechnology from the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida. Prior to joining Shakti in June 2016, Arshpreet did her internship at Mercados Energy Markets India Pvt. Ltd.
Aman Gupta | Programme Assistant, Clean Energy Finance
Aman Gupta
Aman Gupta provides tactical support to Shakti’s Clean Energy Finance Program. A B. Tech. in Material Sciences and Engineering from IIT Kanpur, Aman has completed his PG Diploma in Liberal Studies from Ashoka University through their Young India Fellowship program. He did his internship from Volks Energie Pvt Ltd and completed a project on Solar Irrigation Pumps, before joining Shakti in July 2016.
Jayeta Gill | Communications Assistant
Jayeta Gill
Jayeta Gill supports the communication work of Shakti. She is a Post Graduate in Corporate Communications from Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, and before that has completed her B.A. (Hons.) English from University of Delhi. Prior to joining Shakti in August 2016, Jayeta was associated with the United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan as a Communications Intern, and with GIZ as a Corporate Communications Intern. She has also done some creative work with various community projects as a volunteer in the past.
Nandini Sharma | Programme Assistant, Building & Appliances
Nandini Sharma
Nandini provides tactical support to the Building and Appliances efficiency area of our Energy Efficiency Program, through research assistance, grant management and establishing a network with key stakeholders working in the sector area. Nandini is a Bachelor of Architecture from National Institute of Technology, Bhopal and has pursued certificate courses in sustainable development from Columbia University and University of Bath. Prior to joining Shakti in February 2017, Nandini had completed her internship with Development Alternatives where she worked on various projects in collaboration with Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Nations for sustainable technologies for rural communities and climate change for urban poor. She is trained in the Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA).
Avni Mehta | Programme Assistant, Transport
Avni Mehta
Avni Mehta supports the management of Shakti’s Transport Program. Prior to joining Shakti in May 2017, Avni has completed Masters in Urban & Regional Planning from CEPT University, Ahmedabad after completing her Bachelors in Architecture from Sushant School of Art and Architecture, Gurgaon. Avni also had an opportunity to work as Trainee-Architect with Atelier Anonyme Design, New Delhi and Design Plus D[+]DR, New Delhi and as volunteer for an Urban Mobility Conference in the past.
Elisha George | Programme Assistant
Elisha George
Elisha George assists in Shakti’s Power Program. She is a post graduate in liberal studies from Ashoka University through their 'Young India Fellowship Program' and prior to that did a B. Tech in Chemical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Karnataka. In the past, she was associated with Unilever UAE as an environmental intern, and Emirates Techno Casting, UAE as quality and research development intern.
