Wind energy has immense potential in India and can be a significant clean energy source. Supported by initial government policies, India is the already the fifth-largest wind energy producer in the world with an installed capacity of 29 GW. Yet, there is tremendous opportunity for improvement, particularly in the light of India’s target to achieve 60 GW of wind capacity by 2022. Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation works with several stakeholders to scale up wind power in India.
