On December 9, 2023, GISPRI, Institute of Energy Economics, Japan – IEEJ, and Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) organised a panel discussion on ‘Towards Sustainable Growth through Green Transformation’ at the Japanese Pavilion during COP 28 in Dubai.
The discussion focused on GX, a transformation of the entire economic society, recognised not only as essential for achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 but also as the key to the sustainable development of the global economy in the future. In line with this, government officials, businesspeople, and experts from Japan and overseas were invited to engage in a comprehensive dialogue regarding the state of policies, institutions, markets, technologies, and other factors crucial for realising GX. This collaborative effort aimed to foster a deeper understanding and shared commitment to sustainable growth through green transformation on a global scale.
Narayankumar Sreekumar, Associate Director, Electric Mobility, Shakti, said “Establishing a resilient regulatory framework can enhance investor confidence, encouraging the infusion of innovations and additional resources for the development of zero-emission trucks within the freight sector. A bilateral partnership between India and Japan plays a pivotal role in advancing this objective,”
