U-Chicago students engaging with Shakti team
We would like to congratulate Shubhashis Dey, Director, Climate Policy and Climate Finance, Shakti, who has been invited by the Australian Government, to visit Australia under the Canberra Fellowships Program, as part of a select delegation of India’s foremost climate, energy, sustainability and environment policy-shapers. The Canberra Fellowships are tailored programs for leaders from the Indo-Pacific region. This edition of the programme aims to build bilateral linkages with leading Indian experts, in line with Australia’s revitalised ambitions to be a climate and renewable energy leader. Climate and energy are areas of great potential in the context of our growing India-Australia relationship.
At Canberra, Shubhasis had the opportunity to be at the House of Representatives standing committee on climate, environment and water inside the Australian parliament and discuss how to build upon the strengths of India and Australia to build the clean energy collaboration. He spoke about the need of creating safe trade and supply chain corridors between India and Australia; create regional collaboration across south of Indian Ocean – Indonesia, Japan, Philippines etc., to ensure safety of shipping routes to carry critical minerals; build upon the strengths of India and Australia to build the clean energy collaboration.
