At a panel organised jointly by Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), IIMA and IDDRI, Koyel Mandal, Chief of Programmes, Shakti, emphasised that while the focus of the Global Stocktake (GST) will be rightly on GHG emissions and keeping the 1.50 degree Centigrade target alive, India should also champion the cause of adaptation, loss and damage, and climate finance on behalf of the Global South. He further reiterated that Civil Society Organisations have a key role to play in the GST by representing the voices of the impacted communities, sub-national governments, and non-State actors.
