Strengthening the DRE Ecosystem: Focus on Rural Livelihoods in North-East Region

Clean Energy Access Network (CLEAN) and Water Energy Food Transitions (WEFT) Research LLP have jointly organised a workshop on ‘Strengthening the DRE Ecosystem: focus on rural livelihoods in North East Region’ on March 9, 2024 in New Delhi.

Amit Kumar Singh Parihar, Director, Clean Power, Shakti, moderated a session on ‘DRE for Climate-Ready India’ during the workshop on Strengthening the DRE Ecosystem, organised jointly by Clean Energy Access Network (CLEAN) and Water Energy Food Transitions (WEFT) Research LLP on March 9, 2024. During the session, he emphasised, “DRE systems are a power instrument for creating socio-economic impacts along with addressing the issue of climate change. We need to work on interventions to enhance their visibility and develop a holistic solution framework to pave the way forward for their large-scale adoption.”

The workshop presented and sought inputs from the attendees on the potential of decentralised renewable energy to create livelihoods and transform people’s lives, across India in general and in the North-East region in particular. CLEAN and WEFT collaborated to develop DRE roadmaps for some sectors and policy recommendations for the states of Assam and Meghalaya.
