About the Role

The Corporate and Philanthropic Engagement function seeks to plan and execute initiatives for generating revenue and raise domestic funding through focused donor market research and outreach efforts.

Reporting to Head – Corporate & Philanthropic Engagement (“Function Lead”), the role of Coordinator is to support the execution of a comprehensive outreach strategy through data backed research, writing innovative concepts, and establishing and maintaining effective communication with external and internal stakeholders. The role involves managing a portfolio of outreach and convening initiatives.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Collate and maintain accurate up-to date records of donors by segment such as domestic family foundations, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Corporates and Impact Investors, Board members and intermediaries, Bi-lateral/ Multi-lateral entities etc.
  • Understand the work of programme teams to learn the intricacies of the projects, structure, and deepen the focus areas to identify funding opportunities
  • Support Market Research & Development to understand donor segments and their requirements. Conduct research to track key sector developments, anticipate interventions of other actors especially donors to conceptualize potential project opportunities
  • Develop and update marketing collateral to amplify Shakti’s work including presentations, agenda, press release etc.
  • Provide technical input/ scoping for market research studies and implementation plan for the same
  • Draft, review and edit letters, position papers and fund-raising proposals on specific themes and opportunities, progress reports, consultant terms of reference / request for proposals (RFPs), etc.
  • Create a list and calendar for coordinating funding and partnership opportunities, including grants, calls for proposal and co-funding opportunities
  • Outreach to develop an understanding of the drivers of domestic philanthropic fundraise and corporate actions
  • Plan and Coordinate outreach and convening initiatives

Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies

  • Strong academic credentials from a reputed Institute, including minimum Bachelor’s degree in Economics / Engineering / Business Administration / Science / Public Policy. Master’s degree in marketing or MBA is desirable.
  • Relevant experience of 3-5 years on hands-on market research / data management experience, having deep exposure across industries.
  • Prior experience in fund-raising / CSR / Sustainability or related fields is desirable.
  • Ability to create, maintain and analyze large databases in MS-Excel.
  • Climate Optimist with a ‘Can do’ spirit.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written / verbal communications and presentation skills.
