Bus systems are an integral component of public transport systems in India. However, most existing bus transport undertakings are unable to meet current public transport demand. A significant reason is the limited investments toward increasing the available bus fleets and for creating supportive infrastructure required to maintain and expand existing bus operations. Through this initiative, our partner SGArchitects engaged with three State Transport Undertakings (STU’s) to develop a long-term roadmap for fleet enhancement and infrastructure development. They also engaged with transport department of Delhi to provide technical assistance for design of bus terminals and depots to accommodate more buses and electric buses.
